Girls' Golf Coach of the Year: Guy Percy, GCMS

Guy Percy, who has headed up the Falcons' boys' and girls' programs the last two seasons, led the girls' squad to an 18-0 regular season — the first unbeaten season in program history. Under Percy's direction, GCMS ran away with the Heart of Illinois Conference meet, winning by 42 strokes, and finished second at the Watseka Regional, shooting a season-low 337.

Season highlight: "I think shooting that season-low 337 at regional was probably the highlight of the season for me. It was also nice being able to go to the state finals with Emily (Spangler)."

A few of my favorite things: A good ol' cheeseburger and fries ... Jack Nicklaus ... "True Grit" ... Subway ... iPhone ... Volvo ... to play the British Open courses ... to play St. Andrews.

About Coach Percy: "He was always excited for every single practice. He had ways to communicate and work with every player. He's a funny guy and definitely the best golf coach I've had in high school." — Emily Spangler
