Centennial 16, Lyndhurst (N.J.) 15. Quin Murphy stole home in the bottom of the seventh inning to plate the decisive run as the Chargers (1-0) opened their Florida trip by overcoming a one-run deficit in their final at-bats. Centennial, which led 14-5 entering the seventh, also received an inside-the-park grand slam from Eric Hall.

The spring sports season is officially under way.

Baseball, softball, girls' soccer and boys' tennis events were contested last week through iffy weather, joining the already-ongoing indoor track and field scene.

That means there are some things to discuss pertaining to the conclusion of winter prep athletics and the start of the spring campaign.
