Congrats to Uni soccer ...

Prep sports coordinator Fred Kroner's list of high school highlights from the recently completed week:

1. Urbana Uni High boy's soccer. The Illineks won their own four-team round-robin, outscoring the competition 15-2.

2. Centennial boys' cross-country. The Chargers were fourth in the Normal West Invitational, with their top five runners finishing within 50 seconds of one another.

3. Hoopeston Area football. Snapped a streak of seven consecutive opening-game losses when Brandon Umbanhowar made a 35-yard field goal on the final play at South Piatt.

4. St. Thomas More girls' golf. Won the 12-school Doc Keller Invitational, in Gibson City, with its three lowest scorers coming in between 83 and 85.

5. Fisher volleyball. The Bunnies won team honors in the CPCI Invitational, led by all-tourney picks Carly Clifton and Jacy Cochran.
