For the record, SJ-O softball is 35-0

PEOTONE — By beating Peotone 7-2 and Prairie Central 4-2 on Saturday, St. Joseph-Ogden (35-0) set a school record for single-season wins in softball.

Stephanie Canfield, who earlier this season set an IHSA record for career hits, became the state's all-time leader in runs (227) by scoring three times in the doubleheader.

Against Peotone, Abbey McElwee, Kenzie James (three RBI) and Elizabeth Everingham each had two hits. Emily Griswell was a defensive standout.

In Game 2, Canfield and Molly McElwee each had two hits.
