The numbers: Arkansas recruit is a three-time first-teamer and a coaches all-state first-team selection. Finished second in the area in batting average (.640) with a mark that is SJ-O's second best for a season. Established all-time state records for career hits (277) and career runs scored (231). Career batting average (.577) set a school record. Extremely fast — timed in 2.47 seconds to first base — and ended with 178 career stolen bases, second on SJ-O's all-time records list. Helped school compile a 138-14 record in her four years.

Senior pitcher, St. Joseph-Ogden

The numbers: Area Player of the Year and St. Louis University recruit is a three-time first-teamer as well as a coaches all-state first-team selection. Area leader this spring in pitching wins (32, all-time area season record), home runs (14) and RBI (78), third in ERA (1.12) and fourth in strikeouts (242). Ended second on IHSA season list for runs (81), and second on state career charts for RBI (227) and career doubles (70), plus tied for second on IHSA list for season doubles (26). Posted third-best career batting average (.537) in SJ-O history.

Mickaela Fleming

Junior catcher, St. Joseph-Ogden

The numbers: A coaches all-state third-team selection who batted cleanup (behind Everingham, who had 78 RBI) and still finished second in the area in RBI (76) and fourth in home runs (10), one of which she hit at the 2A state tournament. Shared the team Gold Glove Award with McElwee. Had three passed balls this season and one error in 261 chances. A .480 hitter who had an on-base average of .829 for the 41-1 Spartans, who placed third at state in 2A and broke the area record for single-season victories. Had team-high nine sacrifices.

Kalli Gosser

Junior shortstop, Fisher

The numbers: Repeat selection and a coaches all-state third-team selection was a unanimous all-conference choice after not striking out in 102 plate appearances this season. Finished third in the area in batting (.624), fourth in stolen bases (35) and tied for fifth in home runs (seven). Overall, 32 of 58 hits landed for extra bases, resulting in a 1.182 slugging average. Career batting average of .553 ranks 10th on all-time IHSA chart. In three years on varsity has struck out 10 times in 317 plate appearances and belted 12 home runs for the Bunnies.

Lea Hall

Sophomore catcher, Schlarman

The numbers: A coaches all-state second-team selection who hit .520 for the season with a team-high 45 RBI and against the seven ranked opponents on the Hilltoppers' schedule batted .409, with seven of her nine hits going for extra bases. Overall, 24 of 52 hits were for extra bases, leading to a .980 slugging average. She was equally stellar defensively. "Lea's ability to throw out runners and pick off base runners neutralizes most teams' running game," Schlarman coach Randy Skaggs said. She has a .459 career average for two years on varsity.

Sophomore shortstop, Georgetown-RF/Chrisman

The numbers: Repeat selection and a coaches all-state third-team selection who finished third in the area in stolen bases (54) and ended fourth in the area in average (.594). Adept at reaching base (.705 on-base average) thanks to being hit by 15 pitches and drawing 11 walks. Pounded nearly 40 percent of hits for extra bases and had a 1.014 slugging average. Defensively, committed one error in 76 chances, helping the 21-3 Buffaloes win the Vermilion Valley Conference title. Career batting average of .576 is sixth on all-time IHSA list.

The numbers: Parkland College recruit is a repeat first-team selection. Finished fifth in the area in RBI (48) this season and third on SJ-O's all-time chart for career RBI (176). Eighth on all-time IHSA list for career doubles (55) and 18th for career hits (209). Finished as the Spartans' No. 3 home run hitter of all time (20), ranks second in drawing walks (69) and seventh at the school in runs scored (159). In 146 varsity games, compiled a .993 fielding average, making five errors while in high school.

Senior shortstop, Tuscola

The numbers: Kaskaskia College recruit is a three-time first-teamer and a coaches all-state first-team selection. Finished third in the area in RBI (64) and seventh in batting (.588) for the state's fourth-place Class 1A team. Third on the all-time IHSA list for career RBI (212) and 18th for career hits (209). In four years on varsity, never hit worse than .505 and ended with a .566 cumulative batting average, which ranks eighth on the IHSA's list of career leaders. Helped the Warriors to 79 wins and four regional championships in her four years as a starter.

The numbers: Parkland College recruit was area leader in stolen bases (68) and finished 10th in area in batting (.555). She was a coaches all-state second-team selection. Shared team Gold Glove Award with Mickaela Fleming. Threw out eight runners at a base. Sixth on SJ-O list for career stolen bases (151). Team's leadoff batter led team in hits (81) and scored 80 runs, making her the third prep player in state history with at least 80 runs in a season. Played 136 games for the Spartans and compiled a .512 career average. Drew more walks than strikeouts (39-35) in her career.

Amber Miller

Junior catcher, Tuscola

The numbers: Second-year varsity regular doubled her stolen base total from 2011 (to 20) and, on a team loaded with seniors, was one of the emotional catalysts. Batted .442 and would routinely dive into a base to infuse a spark into the team. Discussing the leadoff batter's value to the team, Warriors coach Lenny Sementi said "she's priceless." Led team in runs scored (44), second in hits (46), second in RBI (35) and second in extra-base hits (16) as Tuscola had its best state finish.

The numbers: Illinois State recruit is a four-time first-teamer and a coaches all-state first-team selection. Area leader in strikeouts (312) who amassed 1,167 in her career (10th on all-time IHSA list) compared to 128 walks. Fourth in the area in wins (21) this season, tied for fifth in home runs (seven) and seventh in ERA (1.65). "Even with all the individual success, one cannot tell it by the way she conducts herself on and off the field. She is a great team player, willing to do anything to help the betterment of the team," GCMS coach Jim Lewis said.

Erin Walker

Sophomore pitcher, Tuscola

The numbers: A coaches all-state second-team selection who was third in area in wins (22) and fourth in area in ERA (1.45), helping the Warriors (26-8) tie their school record for wins in a season. One of the area's workhorses, the right-hander ended fourth in the area for innings pitched (183). Fired six shutouts, two against schools that won regional titles, and was at her strongest in the postseason, pitching Tuscola to back-to-back 2-1 wins in the sectional finals and the super-sectional before losing in the state semis, 1-0, on a seventh-inning homer.

The numbers: Parkland College recruit is a three-time first-teamer and a coaches all-state first-team selection. Finished second in area in home runs (13), fifth in strikeouts (239), seventh in wins (19) and eighth in ERA (1.75). Third on all-time IHSA charts for career home runs (35) and tied for 19th on state list for career victories (82). Other school records include career ERA (1.26), career strikeouts (904), career RBI (136) and career doubles (47) with a total that is tied for 15th in the all-time IHSA record books.
