The numbers: Second in area in wins (17) and tied for ninth in ERA (1.92). Issued six walks in 106 innings and had a strikeout-to-walk ratio of more than 10-to-1. Limited opposing players to a cumulative .219 batting average. A two-way threat, also batted .462 with 43 hits in 93 at-bats.

The numbers: Also a Class 1A state medalist in track and field (fourth in the 800 meters), finished sixth in the area in strikeouts (160) for a team that won a Class 1A regional championship. Averaged 1.7 strikeouts per inning. Compiled a 10-5 record and 2.78 ERA for the LOVC co-champions. Also batted .477.

The numbers: Repeat selection was an Illinois Coaches Association Class 2A all-state second-team selection. Lake Land College recruit is a three-year varsity regular who led the area in home runs (13) and RBI (52). Pounded 31 of 54 hits for extra bases and had a .529 batting average.

The numbers: Lake Land College recruit will join her twin sister playing for the Mattoon-based junior college. Third in the area in home runs (10), tied for second in RBI (45), fifth in ERA (1.82) and tied for eighth in wins (12). Led the 30-4 Spartans in batting (.534 average).

The numbers: Future University of Illinois student is not planning to play softball in college. Split time between center field and first base, sharing the team MVP award with junior pitcher Erin Walker. An All-Okaw Valley Conference first-teamer, finished second on the 19-10 Warriors with a .422 batting average. Tied for second on the team in RBI (26).

The numbers: Three-time All-Area first-teamer is an Illinois Coaches Association Class 1A all-state first-team pick. Wisconsin-Parkside recruit was ninth in area in batting (.559), with 20 of her 38 hits going for extra bases. Struck out three times in 83 plate appearances as a senior and set school records for career hits (198), steals (98) and batting average (.550). Four-time all-conference first-team pick.

The numbers: Second in area in home runs (11), seventh in RBI (38) and 10th in batting (.542). Her batting average and home run totals are single-season school records, as is her career total for homers (27). She committed one error in 133 chances (.992 fielding average).

Led area in stolen bases (50), the sixth straight year a Spartan was the area leader. School valedictorian finished in SJ-O’s top five for career stolen bases (107).

The numbers: Future University of Illinois student may join the club softball team. Straight-A student led the regional champion Chargers in runs scored (42) and had the team’s second-best average overall (.350, but the best in Big 12 games (.467). “Our best and most consistent player on offense and defense,” Chargers coach George Hendricks said.

The numbers: Future Eastern Illinois student hopes to walk on to the softball team. Second in area in strikeouts (190), second in ERA (1.36) and tied for sixth in wins (14). Averaged 1.8 strikeouts per inning. Team’s leadoff hitter batted .458 and played errorless defense. Four-year starter set school record with 54 career wins.

The numbers: Shortstop helped the 22-8-2 Bulldogs win their second Class 3A regional crown in three years. After missing the first eight games with an injury, she returned to bat a team-high .516. Sixteen of her 31 hits went for extra bases. Holds school records for doubles in a season (12), triples in a season (11) and extra-base hits in a season (24).

The numbers: Butler University recruit led the area in strikeouts (217), was first in ERA (0.95), tied for third in wins (16), tied for eighth in RBI (37) and hammered a team-high six home runs. Her strikeouts, wins and ERA broke school records, as did her marks for career home runs (17) and career strikeouts (566).
