Athletes of the Week: Kaiser, Stalter

Jayden Kaiser
Unity, sophomore, track and field

Recently: Won the 55 meters in Saturday’s 35-school Eastern Illinois University Invitational. His time was 6.73 seconds, which followed a 6.79 clocking in qualifications.

In his own words: “The shorter races, that’s my thing, but I honestly didn’t think I would be anywhere in that (time) range. My coach told me it would be a tight race. I got out of the blocks well and ran as hard as I could.”

I’m driving ... a 2004 Ford Mustang.

I need tickets to ... a Lakers game.

Favorite track is ... the Lantz Field track at Eastern Illinois University.

My favorite professional team is the ... Ravens.

Before a race, I’m listening to ... nothing.

After a race, I’m eating ... light, maybe a banana.

My pet peeve is ... someone chewing his gum and chomping his lips.

In five years ... Running track somewhere and maybe playing football

Unity High School is ... being united with all my friends; and my teammates pushing me and them helping me through all my races.

Recently: Hit a double and a home run, driving in five runs as the Bun-
nies opened the season with a 15-0 victory at Urbana.

In her own words: “The first live hitting we had in practice, I hit a home run, and that was a good sign coming into the game. The first game was awesome. We hit well, we fielded well, pitched a one-hitter and had a really good start to the season. We did great.”

I sent my last text to ... my grandma, Marlene Stalter.

I would like to be driving ... a Pontiac G6.

I need tickets to ... a Cubs game.

The toughest pitcher I’ve faced ... Tremont’s pitcher last year

My favorite professional team is ... the Chicago Bandits pro softball team.

Before a meet, I’m listening to ... I usually laugh, have fun, loosen up my muscles, and don’t listen to music.

After a meet, I’m eating ... ice cream.

My pet peeve is ... when people play with my hair.

In five years ... I would love to be playing college softball and working on a major in physical therapy.

Fisher is ... a supportive town, very sports-oriented, and I’m proud to be a Fisher Bunnie.
