Saturday's prep highlights: Dixon, Bachert shine at Cow Chip

In football

Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 56, Momence 14. Caleb Lahey rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, with the visiting Blue Devils bursting out to a 36-7 halftime lead and never looking back in a nonconference win. Jacob Akins added 156 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries to complement Lahey for BHRA (2-0).

Thursday's prep highlights: STM wins three-set thriller

In volleyball

Argenta-Oreana 2, Meridian 1. Camilyn Newbanks finished with 30 assists, nine digs, three kills and three blocks in a 25-19, 18-25, 25-12 victory for the Bombers (6-2).

Tuesday's prep highlights: SJ-O, STM volleyball stay unbeaten

Argenta-Oreana 2, Central A&M 0. Camilyn Newbanks accounted for 18 of the Bombers' 20 assists, helping Argenta-Oreana (5-2) to a 25-13, 25-21 victory at home.

We're getting close to starting another school year, which means prep sports are on the horizon. When area golf teams are able to kick off their respective campaigns come Aug. 9, things officially will be in full swing.
