All-Area Boys' Tennis Coach of the Year: Urbana's Matt Avery

Why he’s Coach of the Year: Avery led a program on the rise to a fifth-place finish at the Big 12 Conference tournament. After finishing in the bottom three at the sectional meet each of the last two seasons, the Tigers took third this year.

Sunday Conversation: Randy Moss

The school year wasn’t quite over yet, but already Randy Moss had taken down most of the wall decor in his office at Monticello High School. The assistant principal and athletic director of 22 years is retiring in June and many of his prized possessions lay in a cardboard box on his floor. On Wednesday, Moss excitedly revealed he had 11 working days left until he called it a career.
