■ Westville 7, Hoopeston Area 0. Tyler Dicken struck out seven and allowed three hits in a complete-game shutout for the host Tigers. Mark Strebin had three hits and three runs. Tristan Flynn had two hits and one RBI. Austin Milholland drove in three runs, and Kyle Brazas scored two runs.
■ Central 14, Tri-County 0. Phillip Swartz tossed a two-hit shutout and the visiting Maroons (23-1) cruised to a five-inning win. Swartz struck out seven and improved to 7-0 on the season, while Nick Brunson (two doubles, four RBI) and Luke Beesley (three hits) led the 13-hit attack by Central.

The Rockets qualified for state (May 9-10) by winning their second consecutive sectional championship at Lake Vermilion. C.J. Parks and Ryan Spencer teamed up to catch fish weighing 9 pounds, 2 ounces.

In boys’ tennis
■ At Danville. Patrick Kearney led Centennial to a 9-0 victory against the Vikings. Kearney won his singles match 6-0, 6-0. Kearney and Andrew Scaggs teamed up for a 6-0, 6-0 victory in doubles. Matthew Scaggs and Sunny Singh each had 6-0, 6-1 singles victories.

■ Centennial 5, Danville 3. Anthony Martin struck out eight and did not allow an earned run in pitching a complete game for the host Chargers. Quin Nottingham and Jeff Lindgren paced the Centennial attack, each getting two hits and driving in two runs.
■ Cissna Park 13, Armstrong-Potomac 6. The Timberwolves scored in every inning. Wyatt Froehling was 2 for 3. Ben Jennings had two hits and two RBI. Jason Sollars had two hits and two RBI for A-P.
■ Bismarck-Henning 3, Schlarman 1. Mo Abbed allowed two hits and struck out 12 for B-H. Michael Feeney had two hits for the Blue Devils.
■ Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 8, Fieldcrest 4. Axel Doran was 3 for 4 for the Falcons. Brady Fleming had two hits and two RBI.
