Wednesday's highlights: Centennial sweeps in volleyball

Centennial 2, Chatham Glenwood 0. Lauren Cloyd and Rachel Jones each recorded seven kills, leading the Chargers to a 25-16, 25-15 home victory. Lindsay Rogan had seven digs and Paulina Nottingham contributed 12 assists for the Big 12 Conference co-champions in the nonconference match.

At SVC tournament. Fourth-seeded Watseka, behind Hayley Gray and Kat Grimes, advanced to Saturday’s title match in Paxton.
Gray had eight kills and five blocks in the Warriors’ 25-14, 22-25, 25-11 victory against Clifton Central. Grimes had 15 assists and nine digs. Natalie Castonguay added eight digs.
Grimes recorded 24 assists in Watseka’s 22-25, 25-21, 25-21 victory against top-seeded Paxton-Buckley-Loda. Castonguay and Mariah Carroll each had 10 digs in the victory. Allison Kaper chipped in with 10 kills, Gray nine and Taylor Bauer seven. The Panthers were paced by Kayla Cowan, who had 22 assists. Amanda Ypya totaled eight kills and Kortnie Schroeder had seven.
In PBL’s 25-17, 25-16 victory against Momence, Kandace Hofer registered eight kills and three digs. Cowan had 18 assists.
