Centennial volleyball dressed to the nines

Centennial is headed to state for the first time, due in part to a talented and tenacious senior class. Here’s more on the Chargers, courtesy prep sports coordinator Fred Kroner:

Wins 14-year Chargers coach Stan Bergman is from No. 400 for his career at the school.

Centennial’s record this season in three-set matches, one of which (a win) was against semifinal foe Wheaton St. Francis.

The tallest players on rosters of the 3A state qualifiers are Centennial junior Jasmine Kyler (6-foot-4) and Chargers sophomore Kelly Braghini (6-3).

In Centennial’s athletic history, there have been five team state trophies. Four have been for title seasons, including the only two thus far by girls (tennis 1995 and 1996).
