Recently: Setter was an all-tournament choice, helping the Chargers go 5-0 and win the Chicago Latin tournament. In the process, Centennial reached 20 wins for the 15th consecutive season.
In her own words: “Even though people doubted us, we had high expectations. It’s cool to prove ourselves and get to 20 wins again.”
■ At Urbana. St. Thomas More’s Nick Hess finished in third place at Class 1A state last season. On Tuesday, he won the heat-delayed Twin City Championship at the UI Arboretum by 40 seconds. Hess finished the 3-mile course in 15 minutes, 26 seconds. The Sabers, who also got a fourth-place finish from Brendan Remington, took third.
■ Urbana Uni High 2, Cornerstone Christian Academy 1. Natalie Dullerud had 18 digs and three service aces for the Illineks in a 25-14, 21-25, 25-3 victory at Bloomington.
■ Watseka 2, St Anne 0. Led by Lexi Shoemaker’s six kills and two blocks, the Warriors improved to 27-0 with a 25-16, 25-19 home win.
■ LeRoy 20, Durand 0. Bryce Dooley and Lane Lindstrom combined for 199 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead the Panthers to a road win.
Dooley gained 100 yards on 20 carries and scored on a 50-yard punt return.
Lindstrom ran for 99 yards in 14 attempts and scored twice in the first quarter on runs of 4 and 12 yards.
In boys' golf
■ At Danville. After bogeying the second hole Thursday at Harrison Park Golf Course, Andy Bott knew he would need to plot a comeback.
“I really wanted to get back to even (par on the front nine),” the Bismarck-Henning senior said.
CHAMPAIGN — The players change. Some of the coaches are different.

In girls’ swimming
■ At Champaign. Maddie Nelson won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events and also anchored Urbana Uni High’s winning 200 medley and 200 free relays as the Illineks won a four-team meet at Unit 4 Pool. Lauren Monahan (100 butterfly), Claire Dickerson (100 backstroke) and Claire Michael (100 breaststroke) also won individual events for Uni (478).
Area golf teams have less than a week to finish their preparations for the postseason. Boys’ regional tournaments start Tuesday. One day later, girls’ regionals will be held. In all cases, qualifiers move on to sectionals scheduled for Oct. 14. The state meets will be Oct. 18-19.
