N-G Top 10: Wrestling (Dec. 21)

Preps coordinator COLIN LIKAS is back with the latest area poll of the top teams on the mat:

1. Clinton    1    With five individual champions, the Maroons grabbed top honors at their own weekend invite.

2. Mahomet-Seymour    2    Coach Rob Ledin’s squad captured a team win at the Mascoutah Invitational behind David Griffet.

3. Prairie Central    4    Drew and Brandon Hoselton are among those leading the Hawks, who beat LeRoy/Tri-Valley.

4. C. Central/Iroquois West    3    Coach Travis Williams’ Comets won their first 12 matches and are among the pride of Class 1A.

5. Monticello    6    A top-two result at Cumberland’s Skull & Crossbones followed wins over Centennial and Urbana.

6. LeRoy/Tri-Valley    7    The Panthers placed third at the Metamora Invitational and defeated GCMS/Fisher last week.

7. Unity    9    Ben Gavel and Jake Frost pushed the Rockets to a team win at their own invitational last week.

8. St. Joseph-Ogden    8    Jake Wendling keyed the Spartans to second at the Unity Invite, and SJ-O also beat GCMS/Fisher.

9. Oakwood/Salt Fork    —    Garrett Lashuay and Ren Dazey helped the Comets to fourth place last week in Cumberland.

10. Westville/G-RF    —    Owen Mariage-Tucker spurred the Tigers to a third-place team result at the Unity Invitational.
