The regular season is now in the rearview mirror, so preps coordinator COLIN LIKAS stops by with his ranks before the postseason begins Saturday:


1. Clinton 1 Class 1A, ClintonAmong those at the Maroons' regional is Olympia, who bested Clinton for a regional crown last season.

2. Mahomet-Seymour 2 Class 2A, Mahomet-SeymourDavid Griffet and the Bulldogs took down the first-ever Apollo Conference championship.

3. Prairie Central 3 Class 1A, Coal CityNothing will be easy for Drew Hoselton, a state runner-up last season, and the Hawks this Saturday.

4. C. Central/IW 4 Class 1A, Coal CityThe Comets had an earlier loss to Prairie Central during the regular season.

5. Monticello 5 Class 1A, ShelbyvilleThe Sages placed second last season in regional action and will wrestle Saturday for first time since Jan. 23.

6. LeRoy/Tri-Valley 6 Class 1A, ClintonThe Panthers took fourth in a regional last season.

7. Oakwood/Salt Fork 8 Class 1A, ShelbyvilleWith a Vermilion Valley Conference title in the bag, Ren Dazey and the Comets turn their attention to Saturday.

8. Unity 7 Class 1A, ShelbyvilleThe Rockets will offer plenty of challenges, chiefly 2017 state qualifier Jake Frost.

9. Hoopeston Area 10 Class 1A, ClintonThe Cornjerkers will be a long shot to win a team title, but Ezra Elliott, among others, have a good shot to advance.

10. Westville/G-RF 9 Class 2A, Mahomet-SeymourCameron Nicholas leads the Tigers, who are strong in the upper weight classes.
