URBANA — A campaign worker for then-Champaign Mayor Don Gerard has been charged with two counts of false personation for allegedly misrepresenting himself as a representative of the city liquor commission.

Champaign's turnout was unusually high

CHAMPAIGN — A big bond issue vote, a four-way race for mayor and an eight-way school board contest propelled an unusually large voter turnout in Champaign on Tuesday.

Analysis shows that four Champaign precincts had turnouts of greater than 50 percent and two were nearly 57 percent.
