Three charged with burglary, forgery

URBANA — Three men have been criminally charged with burglary and forgery for allegedly using forged checks at a local business.

18-month prison term for debit-card use

URBANA — A Rantoul man who admitted using a friend's debit card without his permission has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Christopher Robinson, 28, whose last known address was in the 400 block of South Chanute Street, pleaded guilty Tuesday to financial identity theft.

He admitted that some time in late October, he used the debit card of a man he used to live with.

Man sentenced to prison in gas theft

URBANA — A homeless man who admitted stealing gasoline from a Champaign station has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Jesse Blake, 57, pleaded guilty to theft Tuesday in Champaign County Circuit Court and was ordered to repay $60 to Thornton's, 101 S. Mattis Ave., C.

Frederick Howard, 26, who listed an address in the 1500 block of Williamsburg Drive, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Champaign County Circuit Court to the June 8 burglary of the County Market Store, 1819 S. Philo Road.

URBANA — A Champaign County jail inmate who allegedly tried to bribe a witness in his criminal case not to testify has been criminally charged.

Jordan U. Johnson, 22, who listed an address in the 1000 block of North James Street, Champaign, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of attempted bribery, a felony, and misdemeanor attempted communication with a witness.
