Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for DeWitt and McLean Counties until noon Wednesday. The advisory calls for snow and freezing drizzle. Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. Total snow amounts are expected to be 4 to 5 inches by noon on Wednesday.

Clark-Lindsey looks to expand housing

Officials with Clark-Lindsey Village in Urbana are working on plans to provide new housing options for local retirees.

The project calls for 16 townhouses in four one-story buildings on the northeast portion of the property of the retirement community.

Clark-Lindsey Director of Marketing Ron Wilcox said there's a market for these type of housing options among retirees.

Flannell: don't expect cams in courts here soon

We are not going to see cameras and recording equipment in Champaign County courtrooms anytime soon.

Dan Flannell is the Chief Judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, which includes Champaign, DeWitt, Douglas, Macon, Moultrie and Piatt counties.

Updated: wind advisory in effect for two area counties

Update 3:15 PM:

The wind advisory for most of East Central Illinois has been canceled, but it remains in effect for Ford and Iroquois Counties until 6 p.m. Monday night.

The National Weather Service says strong winds out of the west will continue through this evening, with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour.

State police return from inauguration

Kam's to shut down for three weeks after penalties from city

A popular University of Illinois campustown bar is closing its doors for three weeks after being penalized by the city of Champaign for allowing people who are underage to enter the business and for serving minors.

Champaign Mayor Don Gerard, who's also the city's Liquor Commissioner, said Kam's, located at 618 East Daniel Street, will shut down for three weeks starting on Friday.
