Career center open house scheduled at Central

CHAMPAIGN — The Champaign school district is hosting an open house at the Central High School College and Career Center next week.

The open house is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room 218 at Central High School, 610 W. University Ave., C.

Pre-K registration set in Westville

WESTVILLE — Judith Giacoma Elementary School will hold kindergarten pre-registration later this month.

Parents and guardians may pre-register their children for kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year. Children must be 5 by Sept. 1 to enter.

Hunger walk set Sunday

URBANA — This year's CROP Hunger Walk, sponsored by several churches, will begin Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Church, 309 W. Green St., U.

Registration begins at 1:45 p.m. and the walk starts at 2 p.m.

UI Extension to move Ford-Iroquois office

ONARGA — The University of Illinois Extension is searching for another building to rent for its office serving Ford and Iroquois counties, because the office it has leased for 20 years in Onarga will soon be the site of a medical clinic.
