DANVILLE — River levels rose in Vermilion County on Thursday following heavy rains in northern Vermilion and southern Iroquois counties, prompting Illinois Conservation Police to restrict boating on the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River.

The National Weather Service has canceled a severe thunderstorm warning for southern Champaign County, eastern Douglas County, northern Edgar County and southern Vermilion County and another one for northeastern Champaign County.
DANVILLE — Many of Greg Wolfe's family and friends knew he won a seat on the Danville Area Community College Board of Trustees in Tuesday's election long before he did.
That's because Wolfe, who's finishing his third term on the Oakwood school board, and his fellow board members were in a closed-session meeting until 10 p.m. Tuesday. His wife was waiting to give him the news.

RURAL DANVILLE — Aqua Illinois officials today issued a boil order for customers along and west of Henning Road due to a water main break.
Officials said those customers should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. That will kill any bacteria or other organisms that might be present in the water.
DANVILLE — The Danville Area Community College Players, who are part of the college's Liberal Arts Division, will present the revue "Stage Door," written by Edna Ferber and George Kaufman, next weekend.
The performances, open to the general public, will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. next Sunday in the Bremer Theater on the DACC campus.
DANVILLE — The Danville Area Community College Ag Club will host its 2013 Ag Day on from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday on campus at 2000 E. Main St.
The event is open to the public and free, except for the price of the luncheon.
A barbecue luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Mary Miller Gym. Carry-out lunches are not available.
OAKWOOD - Glen Martin lives near the Salt Fork River and often canoes streams of the entire Vermilion River system.
The Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service will hold a weather spotters class at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Tilton Public Works Building, 301 Fairchild St., Tilton.
The class is free and open to first-timers as well as trained spotters who need a refresher course. No registration is required.
DANVILLE — Danville Area Community College trustees on Tuesday could take a big step toward replacing the Clock Tower Center roof.
