Busey closing Savoy branch, three others
SAVOY — Busey Bank will close four branches — including its Savoy branch — on April 15, bank spokesman Amy Randolph said Wednesday.
Other branches that will close at the end of that business day include the Fort Jesse Road branch in Normal, the Ash Avenue branch in Decatur and the branch in Pekin.
Chicago investor added to First Busey board
CHAMPAIGN — The founding partner of a Chicago-based private equity firm has been added to the board of directors of Busey Bank's parent company, First Busey Corp.
Stephen V. King of Evanston, who founded Prairie Capital with Bryan Daniels in 1997, became the 10th member of the First Busey board on Jan. 1.

3 banks upgraded, 4 downgraded in ratings
Three area banks were upgraded and four were downgraded in the latest ratings from the BauerFinancial rating service, based on data for the quarter that ended Sept. 30.
First Financial Bank of Terre Haute, Ind. — which has area branches in Champaign, Urbana, Mahomet, Danville, Westville, Ridge Farm and Charleston — was downgraded from 5-star ("superior") to 4-star ("excellent").
Business roundup: Construction company files for bankruptcy
DANVILLE — Carter Construction Services Inc. of Champaign filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Wednesday.
The company, which listed an address of 1600 N. Oak St., C, estimated it has between 100 and 199 creditors. Both its assets and liabilities were estimated between $1 million and $10 million.
Two credit unions get downgrades
Two area credit unions were downgraded in BauerFinancial's latest ratings, based on regulatory data from Sept. 30.
Community Healthcare Credit Union of Urbana was downgraded from 3-star ("adequate") to 2-star ("problematic").
CIB closing Sidney branch
SIDNEY — Downtown Sidney will lose a long-time business and a historic presence as Central Illinois Bank says it will close its branch there.
Company officials didn't specify the number of employees affected by the March 1, 2013, closure of the 219 S. David St. branch.
Busey will donate to Salvation Army for social media followers
CHAMPAIGN — Busey Bank has launched a social media campaign to raise money for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle holiday drive.
The bank says it will donate $2 to the organization each time it receives a new like on Facebook or new follower on Twitter, and it will donate $1 for every Facebook share or Twitter retweet.
Heartland acquires assets, deposits of Princeton bank
BLOOMINGTON — Heartland Bank and Trust Co. significantly expanded its footprint last week by assuming the deposits and assets of Princeton-based Citizens First National Bank.
