Champaign Outdoors is partnering with CU Able for a hike at the Sangamon River Forest Preserve to celebrate individuals with disabilities or limited mobility in the outdoors. The Sangamon River Forest Preserve has accessible trails with varying lengths that can be modified to allow all to join in on a hike. We’ll play a game of Nature Bingo on the hike and give away some fun prizes too. Stick around afterwards and enjoy a picnic with friends in this beautiful forest preserve!

This event is free and open to the public. We invite individuals of all ages with disabilities or limited mobility and their caregivers, family, and friends to join us on this hike.

Sangamon River Forest Preserve is a 160 acre forest preserve located 10 miles northwest of Champaign-Urbana. The property has accessible trails and bathrooms. We will meet at the picnic shelter near the parking lot at 11:00am. For more information about the accessibility of the location, please contact

CU Able is a non-profit organization located in Champaign that works to create a safe and accepting support network for families and caregivers of individuals with disabilities.
