Celebrating the 25th year of Gibson City's Lighted Christmas Parade.

So this year's theme is "Silver Bells" and this will be the largest parade to date.

Beginning at 4PM in Gibson City's downtown area there will be food and craft vendors, carolers singing Christmas carols, fires in fire pits, to entertain people who are waiting on the parade and, of course, the arrival of Santa.  A live broadcast of the parade can be heard downtown over the newly installed speaker system, as well as over local radio station 106.3 WGCY Radio.

This year's parade is anticipated to have over 50 entries and will kick off at 6:30 p.m. County Market on the south-east side of town, travel west to Sangamon Avenue where it will turn north and go through the downtown.

Following the parade, Santa Claus will visit with children inside Hood's Ace Hardware at 119 N. Sangamon Ave.

The downtown stores will also be decorated for the Christmas season, so come to town early, shop and enjoy Gibson City's low 6.25 percent sales tax.

This fun event will be a great way to kick-off your holiday season, so mark your calendars to join Gibson City for this fun event.
