URBANA — A Champaign man wanted for the fatal shooting of another man more than a week ago has turned himself in to police.

Champaign police said Isaiah D. Cain, 28, surrendered at the police station Tuesday afternoon, five days after a warrant had been issued for his arrest on charges of first-degree murder in the death of Scott Roth.

Mr. Roth, 21, of Champaign was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 400 block of Edgebrook Drive, Champaign, about 1:50 a.m. May 5.

He died later at Carle Foundation Hospital. His death was the second homicide of the year in Champaign.

Cain is expected to make a court appearance Wednesday.

Police have not released any information about what may have prompted the shooting.

Cain is being held in lieu of $2 million bond.
