CHAMPAIGN — Four children and two adults were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon north of Champaign, police said.
According to a Champaign County sheriff's report, the vehicle officers believe was at fault was headed eastbound on Ford Harris Road approaching North Market Street at 3:42 p.m. when he failed to make a stop at the intersection and drove past the stop sign.
The vehicle crashed into the driver's side of a vehicle headed southbound on Market Street.
A third northbound vehicle on Market Street was forced off the road to avoid the collision.
Police said four children and two adults were taken to an area hospital, where they were treated for what deputies described as non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle who drove past the stop sign was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and other violations.
No names were available on Wednesday night.
