The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Saturday night that it is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the location of Yingying Zhang.

The 26-year-old University of Illinois research scholar visiting from China was last seen shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, in Urbana.

She was supposed to be going to an apartment complex on North Lincoln Avenue to sign a lease.

Surveillance cameras showed her getting into a black Saturn Astra four-door hatchback at the corner of West Clark Street and North Goodwin Avenue. It's believed a white man who had circled the area before talking to her was the driver.

She was last seen wearing a charcoal-colored baseball cap, a pink and white shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes. She was carrying a black backpack.

Zhang is about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs 110 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information concerning Zhang's disappearance should call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or go online to

Champaign County Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward for information that leads to her discovery. That number is 217-373-8477.
