CHAMPAIGN — Two cars collided Saturday on South Neil Street, with one of them — a Ferrari — jumping a curb and running into a building.

No one was injured in the collision, said Champaign police Sgt. Tom Petrelli.

The Ferrari struck Andy’s Barber Shop, 2036 S. Neil St., and the adjacent Premier Tanning.

Petrelli said the noontime accident involved the 2016 Ferrari and a 2017 Volvo, both heading north in the 2000 block of Neil Street.

Petrelli said the driver of the Ferrari 488 was Lima Shen, 18, of Urbana. He was ticketed for reckless driving and improper lane usage.

Petrelli did not have the name of the other driver.

The sergeant said it appeared the Ferrari was totaled. A 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB has a list price of just under $250,000, according to Car and Driver magazine.

The barber shop’s owner, Andy Wagner, said his rough guess was there was at least $20,000 in damage to his shop, including "a caved-in window."

The Ferrari "took out a brick column support in front of the building and also damaged a brick wall," he said.

The shop will be open Monday, he said, inside the Green Mobile at 2040 S. Neil St.
