CHAMPAIGN — A Champaign-based internet provider for off-campus student housing has bought a Champaign-based tech-support company.

Pavlov Media announced Thursday that it acquired Simplified Computers, which is headquartered at 901 S. Neil St., C.

Simplified will continue to operate out of that location.

Chris Hunt, Pavlov's executive vice president of engineering and sales, declined to say how much Pavlov paid.

Simplified will help Pavlov with its business-to-business sector, Pavlov President Glenn Meyer said in a news release, and it will soon begin offering Pavlov's fiber-optic network services.

Simplified, which was founded in 1995, has about 10 employees, Hunt said, and all will be retained.

Pavlov, which has 170 employees, plans to move its headquarters from the Robeson building at 206 N. Randolph St., C, to the former Fluid Event Center it bought last year at 601 N. Country Fair Drive, C, for $2.3 million.

Pavlov got its start in the 1990s and touts itself as the nation's largest private internet provider for off-campus student housing, with operations in more than 40 states.
