From 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at the Douglass Branch, children ages 9 to 11 are invited to learn how to build their own app. The six-week series meets Mondays through July 15. The new apps will be showcased from 1 to 2:30 p.m. July 22.

At 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the main library, join the Wedgie & Gizmo Book Club for school-age children, which meets weekly through the end of July. Each week they read from one of the books and share barky, bouncy, evil genius fun with games and crafts.

At 3 p.m. Saturday at the main library, bring your imagination and dancing shoes to a concert by Chicago-based ScribbleMonster, part of the Live! Music for Kids summer series. Jim and Jayne use their backgrounds in music and special education to welcome all children, including those with special needs. Acclaimed by National Public Radio and Parenting Magazine, ScribbleMonster has shared their music and humor from the Lollapalooza stage.

Urbana Free Library

The Lewis Auditorium at the library becomes the Teen Open Lab from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Whether it's music recording, 3D printing, sewing, reading, drawing, crafting, gaming or just hanging out, the Teen Open Lab has something for everyone! For middle and high school students. Open all summer!

On Thursday, join library staff at the Urbana Park District's Play Days in the Park. Enjoy activities, sign up for a library card and learn about library resources from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Chief Shemauger Park.

From 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday in Lewis Auditorium, come to Baby and Toddler Yoga! This event provides a safe environment for babies, toddlers and their caregivers to bond and exercise together. For children birth to 4 years old with caregiver(s).

Danville Public Library

At 6 p.m. Thursday in the second-floor conference room, join in for Book Clubs are Murder! The true crime and murder mystery book club will discuss "The Cove" by Catherine Coulter.

On Thursday, youths 12 to 18 will work as CSI agents as they explore scenarios, question suspects, decipher evidence under a microscope, and use clues to solve a mock crime with five suspects. Exploration of the crime scene scenario will begin at 2 p.m. in the first-floor meeting room.

On Saturday, enjoy family-friendly activities, vendors and live entertainment by Jalyn Michelle at the Saturday Morning Summer Sounds and Farmers Market on the library lawn from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
