CHAMPAIGN — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning west of Champaign.

According to a Champaign County sheriff's report, a black Nissan was headed south on Rising Road at 11:12 a.m. when it entered the intersection with Springfield Avenue as a semitrailer truck hauling gasoline was approaching from the east.

Sgt. Jeff Vercler of the Champaign County Sheriff's Office said the semi T-boned the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan, a 60-year-old woman from Mahomet, and a passenger, a 59-year-old man from Mahomet, were both taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The Nissan driver was ticketed for failure to yield at an intersection.

The semi driver, a 54-year-old man from Macomb, was unhurt.
