MAHOMET – Wesley T. Veitch, 28, of Mahomet passed away on Sunday (Sept. 10, 2017).
Wesley was born on Feb. 3, 1989, in Normal.
Surviving are his parents, Tom and Susan Veitch of Mahomet; sister, Hillary Veitch of Mahomet; and maternal grandmother, Rose Waid of Pinson, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, a maternal uncle and his two beloved pet golden retrievers, Bama and Cooper.
Wesley was a graduate of Mahomet-Seymour High School in 2007, Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology (2013), and an associate degree from Richland Community College in health information technology (2017).
Wesley's favorite job was his last position as a veterinary assistant at Hill Animal Care in Mahomet.
Wesley dearly loved his family and friends. Nothing made Wesley more happy than watching horror/suspense movies with his family and friends on prearranged movie nights either at home or at the theater. He had a personal collection of over 2,000 movie DVDs.
Wesley also was an avid player of board and dice games with his family and friends. His favorite was the annual Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday celebrations with beloved family and playing board and dice games with his parents, sister, paternal aunt, uncle and cousins. He had a personal collection of over 150 board and dice games.
Wesley was a member of First United Methodist Church, Champaign.
Wesley was an advocate for mental health awareness and participated in support groups in Champaign-Urbana.
