Architect Marshal Erdman, who attended the University of Illinois and was a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Barham Benefit Group building as a modular structure, new at the time. Frank Lloyd Wright’s influence can be seen in the overhanging eaves and high windows. The building’s placement of the windows, higher than most, allows a great deal of freedom in arranging furniture.  Erdman also started Techline.
