The News-Gazette, based in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, invites you to share your opinions with other readers. Our policies:
- All letters are subject to editing.
- Length limit: 250 words. Also, writers are limited to one published letter per month.
- Timeliness: Preference is given to letters offering fresh perspectives on timely topics.
- We do not publish: Anonymous letters, poetry, form letters from advocacy groups, letters published elsewhere, and so-called open letters written to a third party, such as the president or governor.
- Thank-you letters: Only if the author is unable to contact the benefactors in other ways.
