Before our 30th All-Area baseball team is unveiled, preps coordinator COLIN LIKAS offers up his final Top 10 for the 2019 season:


1. Tuscola, 30-3 (1)

Warriors reached Class 2A super-sectional and were only local program with 30 victories.

2. Champaign Central, 27-10 (2)

Maroons should be solid again in 2020, led by Illinois commit Connor Milton.

3. St. Joseph-Ogden, 27-9-2 (3)

Spartans closed strong, winning 10 in a row before losing in Sweet 16 in Class 2A.

4. Salt Fork, 24-5 (6)

Only area Class 1A club in super-sectional fell to eventual state champ Ottawa Marquette.

5. Mahomet-Seymour, 17-10-2 (4)

Bulldogs were hot early, ultimately couldn't get by Charleston in a Class 3A regional semifinal.

6. Centennial, 18-15 (5)

Chargers saw improvement from 2018, tripped up by Mattoon in 3A regional semifinal.

7. GIbson City-Melvin-Sibley, 19-5 (8)

Falcons fell to Bloomington Central Catholic in nailbiter of Class 2A regional final.

8. LeRoy, 23-6 (10)

Panthers' potent offense was silenced by Ottawa Marquette in a Class 1A sectional final.

9. Paxton-Buckley-Loda, 19-9 (7)

Panthers were stunned by Clifton Central in postseason opener after solid regular season.

10. Cissna Park, 19-13 (—)

Timberwolves knocked off Grant Park for Class 1A regional title, program's first since 2014.
