Cissna Park Tip-Off Tournament

Oakwood 2, Clifton Central 0. In a battle of the Comets, Oakwood trounced Clifton Central 25-13, 25-18.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda 2, Clifton Central 0. The Panthers swept the Comets, 25-16, 25-6.

Oakwood 2, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 0. After dropping the first set, the Comets bounced back to top the Panthers in the next two sets, 19-25, 25-18, 15-11.

Cissna Park 2, Kankakee 0. Audrey Kaeb delivered six kills and six digs, Anna Jennings had 14 assists and 11 digs and Erica Walder came up with two blocks to help the Timberwolves sweep Kankakee, 25-17, 25-13. Pool Play finishes this evening in Cissna Park.

In boys' soccer

Rantoul 2, Blue Ridge 2. The Eagles and Knights played to a draw in a match played at Rantoul. Erick Soto scored both goals for the Eagles. Brendan Flannell scored an unassisted first half goal and Nick Becker found the net on a second half penalty kick for the Knights.

Central 7, St. Thomas More 0. Senior Rey Zarco found the net with two goals and an assist to propel the Maroons to victory in a match played at Champaign. Senior goaltender Peter Wagner had five saves for the Maroons. Pablo Diaz, Santiago Rodriquez, Umar Sallah, Hugo Parada and Sam Beesley also scored for Central.

In boys' golf

At Oakland. Marshall edged Tri-County and Villa Grove-Heritage 181-185-191 in a three-school match at Norton Knolls Golf Course. Titan golfer Logan Richardson fired a 34 to lead all golfers. Caleb Ard and Jacob Knofsky both finished at 46 for Tri-County. Junior Sam Reno shot a 42 to lead the way, with senior Tristan Harrison close behind at 48 for the Hawks. Tri-County is now 2-2 on the season.

At Savoy. Junior Justin McCoy delivered a 2-over par 38 to help Central down Mahomet-Seymour 176-195 in a dual match on the University of Illinois Orange Course. Senior Sam Watts shot a 45 while senior George Rodawig finished at 46 for the Maroons. Senior Sawyer Daebelliehn fired a 47 and junior Brandon Collins finished at 49 for the Bulldogs. 57

In girls' golf

At Tuscola. Central golfers senior Mackenzie McCoy and senior Alaea Francis both fired a 45 for the top scores in a match at Ironhorse Golf Club. Senior Ryan Sholem delivered a 51 while junior Dominck Fuentes had a 52 for the Maroon girls. Senior Claire Ring shot a 49 to lead the way for the Warriors. Junior Lainey Banta went into the clubhouse at 59, while senior Whitney Root scored a 68 for the Warrior girls.
